Due to long standing personal, political, musical and business differences, Mammal has decided it cannot continue and is no more.

Ezekiel Ox will be releasing the debut album for his folk/rock outfit THE OX AND THE FURY early 2010, as well as continuing to work with super-producer and long time friend Forrester Savell on their new incarnation SMASH NOVA. He will also continue his activist work with Musicians Against Police Violence (MAPV) and Melbourne Copwatch.

Pete, Nick and Zane will continue to work together with a new project scheduled for 2010.

We would like to thank all of our families and friends for all their love and support over these last 4 years. We would also like to give thanks and love to all the great bands we have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with, in particular Cog – a big thank you for giving us our start.
But most importantly we wish to thank the fans for their unbelievably loyal and heartfelt support which gave us the opportunity to play some amazing shows, to release our records and travel the world. We will never forget these times.

Couldn't believe it when i got the email, FUCK IT!!!! I have a feeling Zeke would have been hard to work with but still, they'd done the hard work and they were just starting to get somewhere i reckon, weird timing, wonder if there was some sort of catalyst?

And it doesn't look like they'll be playing the show at the Corner at the end of December now, spewing, was going to go to the Boxing Day test and then walk over to the Corner! I will be looking out for their next projects though, i reckon the other three will be in a more "metallic" type of band, i reckon they are metal heads. At least i saw them twice, both kick arse shows, thought i'd see em many times more though. Props to you Busty for getting us into these blokes!

Blitzer rang me last night and i am still fucking speechless.........The only word i can think of is FUCK!

Yeah I'm pretty gutted. Absolutely fuckin love this band and only got to see them as a support band just as they released their E.P meaning I didn't know any of the songs and they only played a 30 minute set.

Was hanging to get to see them properly and sing the fuck along to every word$ up the front. Real dissapointed I never got the chance.

I guess this means D.C you got to see them at their last ever hometown gig?

Only saw them once mate? I did not know that. I really feel for ya mate, after all if it wasn't for you pumping them up, Blitzer and i never would have seen them at all, so thanks mate.

I feel for Blitz to - it was his mrs b'day when they last played so he missed out.

Fuckkkk. Im still just so pissed off cause its someone that locally i could have seen 2 or 3 times a year. There live cd has not really left my car much since i bought it.

Got any inside info Busty? Or even Shadow?

Yeah mate, Cog gave them their big break by taking them as support when they were first starting out as a band and I got told by a mate he knew Zeke from his earlier band "Full Scale" and to make sure I got their early and check it out coz he's a nutter on stage. Anyways went and checked 'em out, bought the E.P and fucking loved 'em.

After that I was never in Sydney when they were playing so I never got the chance to check 'em out again. They played Townsville earlier in the year as part of Grooving the moo, was gonna go but pulled the pin at the last minute. I figured an 8 hour return trip, $85.00 a ticket, for a 40 minute set early in the day when not many other folk in the crowd would've known them wasn't worth it and that I'd wait to see them at their own gig. Fuckin regretting that decision now.

From what I hear, he was just way to dominant and was getting worse and worse on stage turning their concerts into political rants to the point that the rest of the lad's said fuck it, let's move on. Crying shame coz they had something pretty special going on.

One of the greatest bands Australia has produced (in my opinion of course) and one of the greatest live bnds going around (in a lot of peoples opinions).

I haven't seen too many better live Aussie bands than this one, they were incredibly fun to see at a pub, fuck me, lots of entertainment!

I did a quick read of them, but i don't get myspace at work. Black metal hey? Any good? who do you liken them to?

It was a joke. Depressive/suicidal black metal. Have a listen to the song "...memories" and you'll get the idea. It's creepy sounding at first, but then the ridiculously melodramatic screams get laughable. To my surprise, the second album had a few moments of not-sucking.

Still morning the loss. I think saw them 6 times, but only got to see them play Festival sets this year. The set at the Gold Coast Big Day Out this year was one of the best shows I've ever seen anyone ever put on ever.
