For me, it's Turn the Page and St. Anger.

How does Turn the Page's lyrics not work for the whole down on her luck hooker thing?

There I am - up on the stage
Here I go - playing star again
There I go - turn the page

I.E., totally fooling herself that she's in any way in the "entertainment" business like she said - or if you want to take a totally cynical tone, it can be interpreted that way.

St. Anger is also awesome, in that it just really works for the song. San Quentin is a pretty "angry" place, and just kicking ass in a prison block is cool. Plus, it shows that when you use your anger in a non "healthy" way, you end up in big trouble.

I`ve just heard the original to Turn The Page, strange.. Have only heard Metallica`s version of Turn The Page!!

Some dude on here said that everything went bad after the black album then proceeded to say his favorite songs were Fuel, Whiskey in a Jar, and Turn the page...Whoever said that don't hate me for this thread, i just thought is was funny.

I have all the originals actually, I think 'The Small Hours', 'Free Speech...' and 'The More I See' are better the original way, 'Breadfan', 'Crash Course...' and 'Astronomy' are better the Metallica way...
I also do like to hear the originals of 'The Wait', 'Stone Dead Forever', 'Killing Time' and 'Blitzkrieg'.
Seger's 'Turn The Page' and Skynyrd's 'Tuesday's Gone' are kinda boring, I think, so Metallica makes those two better.
Diamond Head kicks ass too, by the way!

This is from me sitting on my ass actually watching tv with the VCR remote in my hand. None of these are downloaded its all been taped from a little over 3 years.

It's not updated, so when I say 850 it's a rough estimate. This was last updated on Dec 26th, I am now at least 25 videos ahead of that.

What, you're like forty? OMG!

Yes I am just the youngest one here he he he but as to if I like the Loads and St Anger yes I do I believe that they really matured but I still do like the heavier stuff better though. I really don't like the sound recording on the St Anger but the songs that they have did live so far sounds so much better. My buddy Jesse told me when I recorded the Garage Inc for him that Turn The Page and Astronamy if they were not MetallicA's songs that they are now. I really loved that because he told me before I recorded Inc for him. That they're is no way that anybody could ever cover any BOC and make it sound good.
