The Four Horsemen is the best song on the album followed by Seek and Destroy. Actually I agree with master of orion. Anesthesia isn't that great. well it's a great bass solo but it's soooo boooooring to listen to. i always skip it. i'm not a big fan of Jump In The Fire and Metal Melitia either. i think Phantom Lord is the most underrated on this album. they should play it live a lot more.

Nice review, but i dont agree with u on the four horseman, its the best song on the album.
and pulling teeth is one of the best bass solos ive ever heard. if u were really a bass player u would know how hard it is to play that song.

i'm all with you lad, the four horseman rocks...
one of the greatest 'tallica has ever done

Off the top of my head a I can't think of anything... the first thing that came to my head was "Destroying your future, makin' it all shady" from Mercyful Fate.

Anyways, I would think you would know more of the lyrics if you guys were thinking it was the best song you had ever heard.

Anyways, I got lost at this part:

"my friend took it to a bloke who reckoned some guy doing work experience in a studio the same time metallica were recording"

Doing work experience? What does that mean?

And yes Battery is like the best song ever itz my favourite song and i no the song off by heart  ;D and im currently learning how to play it

can anyone help me. my friend showed me a song that he down loaded form the internet very much in the style of metallica. we got into it and were thrashing around to it thinking this is the best song we've ever heard. my friend took it to a bloke who reckoned some guy doing work experience in a studio the same time metallica were recording had stolen it and sold it on the internet. how he got that info i don't know so i thought i would ask the people who would know? the only lyric i rememebr from it is "distorting my view". has any one heard the song. does anyone know if it is metallica. does anyone like this song. it is actually one of my favourites. it starts off in half time and then in the interlude it goes into double time and sounds like a bit like the interlude from 'the wait'

Until It Sleeps: As I said before I don't really like the "Load" songs, but this one sounds really nice on this DVD. The guitars, drums, bass, singing is all great, and that makes this a really nice preformance.

*For Whom The Bell Tolls: This is the second highlight of the DVD, so to speak. I've just started to really like this song, and this preformance doesn't dissapoint. James has alot of energy, Kirk has alot of energy, Lars and Jason also do... The crowd is oing wild.. Before you know it your pumped up, and by the time the song is done you wanna listen to it again.

Wherever I May Roam: This is one of the nicest preformances I have seen for this song. If you like this song, you won't be dissapointed. Again, lots of energy.

****Fade to black: This is the crziest version of fade To Black ever. It sounds so good, and what really helps i the fact that James is flawless. Kirk is flawless. Lars is flawless. And Jason is just.... singing with some girl in the crowd.. Overall this is the best song on this DVD, one of the best live preformances EVER, and just this song is worth your money.

*Kill/Ride Medly: This is so cool. It goes: Ride the Lightning, No Remorse, Hit The Lights, Four Horsemen, Seek, Fight Fire With Fire. It is really cool. Its like 13 minutes long, and  it sounds so good!

Last Caress: They open this up p;aying Leper Messiah! They don't sing it but it sounds really cool. As for last Caress.... its OK

Master of Puppets: This starts out sounding like a seet version of MOP, and then they dont play the 2nd half of the song. they dont even play the interlude. What are they thinking? Besides that it sounds sweet.

*Enter Sandman: Most people say this is your average "Sandman" preformance but it is really nice in my ears. And at the end....... Some flaming guy runs up on the stage. Its cool.

Am I Evil? With some of the stage dstroyed, they play Am I Evil? Kirk has a cool guitar, and the song itself sounds cool. James once again sounds good.

Motorbreath: In my ears this is a highlight, but I don't think other people will think that. Nice way to end it.

+ The band has alot of energy
+ From Fuel to the end of disc this DVD is crazy
+ Sound is really good
+ Bonus material is cool

- From Beginning of Disc to Fuel, it kina lacks something
- Crowd is edited aout a little too much, still lots of energy

Posted by MiniME06 on 10/01/04 @ 07:21 PM    Post subject: Ride the Lightning Lazy Assed Review

Okay, whats next... RTL. Good album, one of my favorites... enough crap, lets get to my even crappier reviews.

1. Fight Fire With Fire - a good song, when i first heard it the intro kinda caught me off guard as not being what i expect from Metallica. This one gets my Trademark grade of a B+ (T).

2. Ride the Lightning - one of my favorite songs, kind of repetetive intro but it's still a great song. who made me god to say... A- ?! well, ITS MY REVIEW, so i said it.

3. For Whom the Bell Tolls - this is a great song and one of my favorites at the moment (RTL is an all time favorite). this song has alot going for it, i especially like the intro. FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS? me, beeyotch.(T) (my crappy "jokes" that make you wanna puke are also my Trademark)

4. Fade to Black - A DEFINITE FAVORITE OF MINE. one of the best rock ballad type songs they got and alot of people would agree with me. (if u don't, ur a muthafukka) this song is getting a muthafukkin' A.

5. Trapped Under Ice - used to be one of my favorites, i "over-listened-to" this song but it still gets a B. Kinda short but we all know how long Metalica songs are so sometimes you need a break from listening to songs 7+ minutes long.

6. Escape - not the best song on the album but it is by no means a bad song. alot of people bash it and it isnt't that popular but im still gonna give it a B or B-, not sure. i'll decide later.

7. Creeping Death - one of the best songs on the album. i'll give it a B+.

8. The Call of Ktulu - another good instrumental, but i like all of Metallica's instrumentals. a bit long but most of it is good. this nice long piece of voiceless crap (crap worthy of god) gets a B.

my overall grade for Ride The Lightning is an A-, deal with it.

Posted by MiniME06 on 10/01/04 @ 09:17 PM    Post subject: Master of Puppets Lazy Assed Review

this is another one of my favorite album, i like it even more than RTL. it has alot of my favorite songs. the album alot of people would say Metallica is best known for.

1. Battery - a very good song, definitely one of the best songs on the album. starts of a little bit slow but its an awesome song. Right up there with MoP. This one gets an A-.

2. Master of Puppets - probably the most known song of the album and even of all Metallica songs. Its pretty long, but it doesn't get boring. I couldnt justify myself giving this anything lower than an A. Obey your master and go buy this album if you havent already.

Chop your breakfast on a mirror.

3. The Thing That Should Not Be - probably not the best song on the album but it's still a decent tune. i personally think the song is pretty good so i'll give it a B.

4. Welcome Home (Sanitarium) - another pretty popular song. sounds very good and is a little different than the rest of this pretty heavy album. another of my personal favorites so it gets a B+.

5. Disposable Heroes - this has been one of my favorite songs for a long time. i especially like the lyrics to the song. one of its only drawbacks i can think of is that the intro is a bit long. this is a great song, one that is often left unnoticed. LISTEN TO IT NOW.

Back to the front
You will do what I say, when I say
Back to the front
You will die when I say, you must die
Back to the front
You coward, you servant, you blind man

I say B+.

6. Leper Messiah - this is not my favorite song on the album, but not every song can be the best. despite not being the "best" it is still a good song and should get recognition. this song is also pretty heavy, like most of the album. this one gets a B-/B.

7. Orion (Instrumental) - like all Metallica instrumentals, this one is good. probably at the top of the list of my favorite Metallica instrumentals. After awhile it does get repetitive but it's for the most part a great song. this one gets a B.

8. Damage, Inc. - this is a pretty good song, also pretty heavy. a kinda slow start but it gets pretty good. this is probably my second to least favorite song on the album besides Thingy but i like every song on the album. This one gets a B.

Now on to the overall grade.
I give the Metallica album, Master of Puppets a A-.

Please! critisize and discuss any opinionated faults that i make in the reviews. just want to wonder what you think.

Blackened
Came back with a bang from alcohol and the loss of cliff. an amazing song that combines the ferousious speed of KEA and the musical genius of Damage inc., MOP.
kept the dual solo's and kirk played a blinder, this song and the rest. 9 1/2

AJFA
one of the best songs recorded by metallica. Melodic guitar riffs and classical playing made for a great self titled song. the solo's were top knotch and even though the drums were a bit mechanic, it was still as tight as hell. brilliant piece of music. 10

Eye of the Beholder
Good. Solo's were again some of the best by kirk and the dualling with james were incredible. not the best song on AJFA but not bad. 8

One
heh, heh... do i even have to say anthing? ;D
fine i will.... amazing. simply the greatest song ever recorded by Metallica. period. 10

Shortest Straw
meh, Ok. doesnt do much for me. Not exactly bad, i just don't really like it that much. :P 7

Harvester of Sorrow
Really Good. a real metal song. deep, heavy riffs with a pounding chorus. i like, i like. 8

The Frayed Ends Of Sanity
this is a wierd one for people. i only found out recently people think that this is the worst song on AJFA and doesnt sound similiar to the rest. i disagree. i love this song. the start is brilliant live and the song is great. brilliant drums and vocals. 8 1/2

To Live Is To Die
Also Amazing. breathtaking tribute to cliff that has some really epic guitar plaing and really good riffs. 9 1/2

Dyers eve
Good fast pace Metal Up Yer Ass!!!brilliant but a little disorientated. 7

And Justice For All(Album)
Incredible comeback and really good debut for Jason. 9

Therefore One is the best song in the history of Metallica.

You`re the man, One is the best song and has the best solos of any metallica song

ESCAPE (hetfield / ulrich / hammett) 1984 a:Ride The Lightning.

This is the only song of the Lightning-album that has only been played live during jams to fuck up James (he can't stand the song...). Let's have a closer look to the song,
first of all the topic of the songs lyrics iskind of something everyone can identify with; breaking away from the real world and live your own life, I think it's a cool topic. The song starts off with a nice melody followed up by a pretty bad-ass riff, mixed with nice drumwork from Lars, love the melody in the chorus. The bridge just before the guitarsolo is kinda weak, I'd say, just as Kirk's solo, it's not his best plus the ending with the totally useless siren-sound isn't all that, I think...
Overall I'll rate the song: 7,5.

ORION (hetfield / ulrich / burton) 1986 a:Master Of Puppets

Isn't it a shame that they never played this damned song live in its full version? Well, I think it is...I know everyone listens to this song, just to hear the slow part of the song with Burton's massive bass-solo. But overall I think this whole song fucking rocks!
It starts up fading in with a very cool bass-sound lifted up by Lars' drums, then the guitars come in and make the song what it is...Cool!! This song shows how mighty Burton could handle his bass...We still miss him...Also, I really dig those wheaping guitars in the slow part! Awesome!
Rate: 10

THE FRAYED ENDS OF SANITY (hetfield / ulrich / hammett) 1988 a:...And Justice For All

The intro is a good thing to keep the crowd going during their live-shows. A part of this song once was part of the so called Justice-medley on the Nowhere Else To Roam tour.
As far as I can say: this song has a cool riff, but they shouldn't had to stretch this song so long, after a while it gets kinda boring, I think. The topic of the lyrics from my own perspective, they are about addictions or something. Well, that's nice. Then Kirk's solo, maybe it's the best thing about the whole song...
Rate: 5

TO LIVE IS TO DIE (hetfield / ulrich / burton) 1988 a:...And Justice For All

An instrumental packed with riffs written by Burton, magnificent! The song starts off with a cool Spanish melody, which turns into a pumping heavy-ass riff, I heard that most of the guitars were done by James and he did a pretty good job (once again). I must say that Lars' drumworks are fucking great too, actually. I love to see this song live in its entirely, would be fun to see James struggle with all those different guitars (haha!). The best part of the song might be the slower middle-section, just gives a real strange feeling over me, I don't know what it is...It's just too good to be true
Rate: 9,5

DON'T TREAD ON ME (hetfield / ulrich) 1991 a:Metallica

This is one of the most underrated songs of the album, it starts off real heavy, and goes on for the rest of the song, I also like that "I want to be in America" melody at the start. Lyrical topic: America rules the world (from my persepective), this kinda shows how strong America is, but experiences proved otherwise (9-11). I really dig Kirk's solo in this one, for the rest it's basically based around the same riffs. Never was played live (not even a jam)...
Rate: 8,5

MY FRIEND OF MISERY (hetfield / ulrich / newsted) 1991 a:Metallica

Another kick-ass song which Metallica constantly look away from...It was only Jason who played the bass-part of the song during his solo's on live-shows...It's a shame, cuz the song fukcing rules. The riff during the verses is by far the most coolest thing I've heard. The lyrical topic is cool too, I just cannot find the words to explain (my English isn't that good), offcourse there is another slow part in the song with a pretty cool twingy guitar in it.
Then there is Kirk's chainsaw-solo, I simply love that shit he does there...Wow! This is probably the best song from the whole album.
Rate: 10

THE STRUGGLE WITHIN (hetfield / ulrich) 1991 a:Metallica

I simply like the marching drum intro, it's unlike everything they've ever done this far. The main-riff is simply fucking heavy. I read once that the lyrics were the last to be written of all songs just before recording and that James was singing about the recording process of this album, kinda cool, I think...This is one of the fastest songs of the album and also a real good one, only Kirk's solo is a bit simple, I'd say. But I think this could be a cool live-song. A worthy album-closer.
Rate: 8,5

As you might have noticed, this review is kinda about the songs that were never or hardly played live. I don't know how I got to this, but I liked doing it and maybe I'll come back for a part 2 (1996-2003) if you like that.
So, I hope you had some fun with this shit and I'll see ya!

View entire thread: Rate the Albums
Posted by cloudnine on 10/25/04 @ 10:47 PM    Post subject: Rate the Albums

Hokay! It's time for one of the toughest exercises I've come across.

It's rating the eight Metallica albums in order of worst to best: KEA, RTL, MOP, AJFA, Black, Load, Reload, St. Anger (studio, original material only - Garage Inc and S&M don't count) - and boy, did I have a tough time.

Consider everything - the songwriting, the music, the general feel of the album - EVERYTHING :P.

Before I start, let me say that I truly DISLIKE no Metallica album (aside from Re-Load). They all have their respective merits - I just want to create controversy!

Here goes nothing:

8. Re-load
I just can't like this album. All the songs except for Fuel (which really gets tired after a few listens), Unforgiven II (just SLIGHTLY below the original in quality) Fixxxer, and parts of Carpe Diem Baby just...suck. There's nothing memorable about any of the other tracks, and all of them are just boring, uninspired, and are generally just sub-par. What's the point of hearing good lyrics if there's no good melodies to put them to?
7. Kill 'em All
While I certainly appreciate that this was their first album and they hadn't really found their sound yet, the lyrics on this one were pretty juvenile. Of course, they were still in their teens - quite excusable. There are some awesome riffs to be found here (Four Horsemen, Hit the Lights, Seek and Destroy) and I don't DISLIKE the album - but it definitely wasn't their best.
6. St. Anger
As we all know, this was a total departure from the "usual" Metallica sound - rough, gritty, and personal, this one totally polarized people. I like this album a lot - but it can get tired after awhile, and let's face it the crafting of the songs wasn't nearly as complex (especially when you look at the guitar tabs) as their earlier work. Like I said - you have to understand the history behind this one to "get" it. Good album - but not their best.
5. Ride the Lightning
Ouch! Putting RTL as their 5th-best album will get me some flack here. However, I feel their second album has definite low points (Trapped Under Ice, Escape) and I can't say I love the title track all that much. Make no mistake - Fade to Black, Creeping Death, Ktulu are all amazing pieces of songwriting - but I feel this album is weaker than their later efforts. Of course, it includes the ultimate crowd-pleaser For Whom The Bell Tolls, too - which is pretty shibby.
4. Black Album
What can be said about this album that hasn't already been said? Mostly abandoning the thrash sound that defined them, hard rock became the flavour of this album - and what a delicious one it was. Incredibly well-designed songs, there's no doubt that this album contains TONS of winners. Aside from all the "big" songs (Sandman, Sad But True, Unforgiven), in here contains the ultimate power ballad of all time in Nothing Else Matters and the killer God that Failed, Friend of Misery, and Through the Never. This album has some duds, though - Struggle Within and Holier than Thou are sub-par compared to the rest.
3. Load
Metallica takes a sharp left turn with this one - but what a gorgeous turn it is. Hetfield's voice is in its best years, with him being able to sing both hard and soft seemingly effortlessly here. Probably the most personal and finely crafted lyrics of any Metallica work, this album contains two incredible epics (Outlaw Torn, Bleeding Me) which are truly gorgeous. Ronnie is another overlooked gem, with incredible lyrics based on a school shooting. I also like the "fight" songs here - Ain't My Bitch and 2x4 are fun deviations from the album's general theme of looking inward to find deeper meaning. Except for The House That Jack Built and Thorn Within, every track on this one is a classic in my eyes.
2. ...And Justice for All
The ONLY thing that kept this one out my the top spot was the production. This album has my favourite Metallica song on it (One) and other killer tracks like Dyers Eve and Blackened. There exists on this album the second-best Metallica instrumental BY A HAIR - To Live is to Die, dedicated to Cliff. My complaints are the bloated nature of some of the cuts (the title track, Shortest Straw) and the obvious shoddy production. The bass is totally nonexistant, and this one has WAY too much treble in all the instruments and the voice.
1. Master of Puppets
Considered Metallica's masterpiece by many, I consider it to be essentially tied with AJFA for best album. The classics are all here - Master of Puppets, Sanitarium, Damage Inc, and the best instrumental ever to grace a Metallica record (Orion). The Thing That Should Not Be is heavyness incarnate, and Disposable Heroes is a precursor to AJFA's One. I can't say I like Battery - I never really could get into it. This album simply has the best song structure of any album of theirs - time changes, interludes, and classic solos reign here.

Like I said - this list was extremely hard to put together, and I can't really say I like MOP over AJFA or vice versa.

Your opinions?

Posted by Saint_Anger on 10/23/04 @ 05:08 AM    Post subject: Re: Reviews of (somewhat) forgotten songs

Alright, but the part II will only be about the Load / Re-Load songs, cuz it's a lot...

THE HOUSE JACK BUILT (hetfield / ulrich / hammett) 1996 a:Load

What can I say, it's a fucking kick-ass song with really loose guitars at the beginning. This might not be a good live song, I think cuz there is too much happening in this song, all weird fills on guitar and vocals, it makes the song kinda freaky, which is cool. I love that big wah-wah thing Kirk does throughout a big part of the song. The lyrical topics is kinda about James' soul, or something, by anyway the lyrics are sick, in a good way...
Rate: 8,5

CURE (hetfield / ulrich) 1996 a:Load

Cure is a song many people forget even Metallica, it did show up during a few jams in live-shows. I like the spoken lyrics mixed with the sung lyrics. The guitar riff is not that memorable...It's just a song to fill up the album, I think. Lyrical topic: Suicide, that's new...Kirk's solo is nice, but I think it's too short...I do believe...
Rate: 6,5

THORN WITHIN (hetfield / ulrich / hammett) 1996 a:Load

Probably the best forgotten song of this album, it starts off kinda loose, then it kicks in to a kick-ass riff. I think the lyrics are about a person (James) who is seeking for forgiveness for his sins. Jason also does a great bass-job in this song, it was also his favourite song of the album. Maybe this would nicely when it's gonna be played live...But only time will tell, I think...
Rate: 9,5

RONNIE (hetfield / ulrich) 1996 a:Load

Now, okay, there is something strange about this song; nobody likes it, but still they like it somehow...I think it's because it doesn't have a true Metallica sound, but it is interresting to hear it. The riffs are really great, so is Lars' drumwork especially during the spoken part.
The lyrical topic is really Americana, a dude who totally lost his mind and suddenly shoots some people in his hometown...It matches good with the guitar-sounds, I think. This song did also only came up during those famous live-jams, and from my persepective it's a good thing, cuz this one is also not a real good live song...
Rate: 9 (for it's magic)

BETTER THAN YOU (hetfield / ulrich) 1997 a:Re-Load

This song has a real heavy opening, Lars pounding out his drums and a kick-ass guitar riff. The weak point are the lyrics I think, but that's in a lot of songs from this album. Kirk's solo isn't also one of his best, but nice.
The intro of the song was played during jams again, nice to hear the whole song live, I think.
Rate: 8

SLITHER (hetfield / ulrich / hammett) 1997 a:Re-Load

This song is kinda the same as Cure, you easily look over it, this song is also known as Metallica's worst song. And it might be true, but let's have a closer look.
The intro-riff and main-riff are both great. The drums and bass are doing great. I think it's the lyrics again, they are so vague, that nobody can really identify with, I think. I can't think of any explanation, but Kirk is doing a great job on the solo's. So, I'd say this is a really 50-50 song...
Rate: 6

CARPE DIEM BABY (hetfield / ulrich / hammett) 1997 a;Re-Load

Carpe Diem Baby, starts off real heavy, the riffs during the verses are great just as the choruses, they are so heavy that if you turn up the bass on your stereo, you'll be automatically be jumping through your living room...Nice! But, this is the point where I break the song down; It is a bit too long, they could easily end the song after the second chorus I think, repeating some verses sometimes isn't all that, man...I also like the bridge before Kirk's kick-ass solo halfway the song. I do think that would be another live-show killer though...

BAD SEED (hetfield / ulrich / hammett) 1997 a:Re-Load

The list never seem to end, 13 songs and only 5 of them were perfomed live in it's total. Shame on you, Metallica, for not playing Bad Seed in it's total. This song has a great vibe in it, cool drumworks and a fucking heavy riff.
Also funny is that guy who's announcing the one who suffers the truth. I love the double bass Lars is using in some parts of the song, Kirk is also doing his best on his solo, but once again, it's too short...
I'll rate this: 9, cuz it's one of my favourites...

WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE (hetfield / ulrich / newsted) 1997 a:Re-Load

Another Jason-song, so no need to play it live...What the fuck? No wonder Jason left...Any song that has Jason on it turns out to be a masterpiece, so why not let him write more song...? Everyone is doing great in this song bass, guitars, drums...I also think that the vocals are one of James' best...This song just never gets dull. Hamett's solo kicks seruious ass. I also know there is a book with the same title, I think the lyrics were kinda based around that, but I could be wrong. Don't you think that bridge where James is screaming things, mixed with those vocals about the toy horses, kicks serious ass?...We shall never surrender! (jason did play this during his bass-solo's)

PRINCE CHARMING (hetfield / ulrich) 1997 a:Re-Load

One of the fastest songs of the album, it sometimes reminds me of the Justice-album. It has the riffs and length to be on that album I think. I don't know why Metallica never wanted to play this song on stage, I think it would turn out great. Another cool Kirk-wah-wah solo, which makes the song even more worthy, plus, offcourse, a heavy middle part right after the solo...Magic!

ATTITUDE (hetfield / ulrich) 1997 a:Re-Load

This is just another heavy ass-kicker, everything in this song makes me wanna bang my head, I don't know what it is. Lars is doing a great job once again. But it isn't of any worth for Metallica, since they don't even know the title of the song anymore...

FIXXXER (hetfield / ulrich / hammett) 1997 a:Re-Load

This is simply the best song of the album, from my perspective. I like the intro with those freaky guitar-things, and then the bass sets in, with a cool riff from James...Lovely. Maybe the reason why they never play this live, is beacuse there are too much guitars in it, plus the main-riff isn't that easy to play, I think. The lyrics are about James' relationship with his father, which just turned out to be great and then his father sadly died...That is heavy...Another cool thing is the middle-section of the song, where everyone freaks out on his instrument, Lars, once again, proves he is a very good drummer...This is a very cool song in the style of the Justice-album, again...

I agree with assmonkey(1st grader snicker), one is overrated. great song, great lyrics DARKNESS, IS VISITING ME ALL I SEE ABSOLUTE HORROR but its not THE best song, ever. fade to black is so much better, i love that fuckin solo in it. the instrumentals surpass it. here's my little metal ladder
bottom rung. People who dont no what metallica is but wear their shirts
one step above: Ppl who heard enter sandman once
one step above: Ppl who heard one and think they're super metal.

top rung: the dedicated, "i dont have a life" metallica fans at ENCYMET BITCH!@

Its amazing how many of the songs during S&M just sounded so much better with the symphony

Call of Ktulu -> This song was always ok, but once they played it with the symphony, it just got so much deeper

No Leaf Clover/ -Human -> These songs just sound so much better with the symphony having heard No Leaf Clover live without it (although I cant say the same for -Human since they've never played it outside of S&M)

Nothing Else Matters -> This song was just made to be played with a symphony, simple as that

The Outlaw Torn -> I never used to like this song, and then once I heard it on S&M it became one of my favorites.  I always listen to this song once a day, its easily the best song on S&M

I love it. But it's not the best song Metallica have.
Nothing, Sandman and Sanitarium are the songs that made me like Metallica.

When I first bought Reload and I saw there was an Unforgiven II, I thought "oh no is this going to destroy the classic original?" But I was very surprised by it. It is a great song. Is it up to the original? Not quite but Unforgiven was the best song on the Black Album (well behind Sandman). It would have been hard to beat but Unforgiven II is awesome in everyway.

Well guys, YOU ROCK!!!!!!!! you assembled the best metal band on this planet.  I admire you guys because you have the potential to move masses of people and I am one of them.  You have write the best metal songs and your creativity to keep writing is incredible.  Personally, when I listen to your songs, It's a therapy for me, they make me feel good and they've play an important role in my life on a daily basis.  I have overcome a lot of many problems thanks to your music 'cause I have been related to some of your songs especially 'Fade To Black','The Unforgiven', 'Master of Puppets', 'Holier Than Thou', 'Wherever I May Roam' and most recently 'Frantic'.  I play guitar, like many others out there, and I can play all of your songs, From 'Kill'em All's Hit the lights' all the way to 'St. Anger's All Within My Hands' in my guitar.  Some of them were a challenge to learn and still a challenge to play but I pratice every day.  I have seen you guys several times and it's an AWESOME experience.

JAMES HETFIELD:  You're the best songwriter/lyricist and rhythm guitar player of all time.  The strong muscle in Metallica's sound and the best frontman of a band out there.  I truly admire you for going into rehab to overcome all problems and put in order your thoughts and  emotions cause that was needed for Metallica to take the next step and start a new chapter.  YOU RULE!!!

LARS UlRICH:  The best metal drummer on this planet.  You got style, speed, and you play every song like if you were playing the best song ever, with a lot of energy and enthusiasm, PERFECT. You are the guy who always gives interviews on radio and T.V. and also the guy who started it all, who put Metallica together 20 years ago and you did an excellent job, THANK YOU SO MUCH!

KIRK HAMMETT:  You're my favorite lead guitar player.  Your solos are always full of drama and very constructive.  You inspire me to pick up my guitar and start playin' all day.  No blame for no solos on 'St.Anger' cause  I think this album was like a therapy for you guys and your were experimenting new things.

ROBERT TRUJILLO:  'The God that save Metallica'.  You ROCK!!!!  you are devoted to your music cause and your energy, combined with James', Lars', and Kirk's makes the band sound strong and ALIVE!!!  I saw you guys last year's SUMMER SANITARIUM Tour and you were rockin' man.  I'm 100% sure that you will prove it and blow out the world on the next album.

Well, guys, there's no doubt that METALLICA is best metal band ever and I'm about to see you in concert again. I hope it won't take another seven years to make another album cause you got a new bassist and he needs to prove the world what he is made of.  Also hope to hear speed and awesome heavy riffs and of course, how i can forget to say it, we need SOLOS.

Thank for existing, that makes my life and Thanx for being

P.S. If you read this guys, I went to your concert when you stop by at the AMERICAN AIRLINES CENTER Dallas, TX. on November 17th 2004. You really showed and proved to us how Madly In Anger With The World you are.  FUCKIN' THANKS!!!

nirvana DOES suck!!! i glad that mediocre fuck is dead, people who think he is a genius should die too.

Mediocre or not, many people dream to get to his musician success. He was a good songwriter, deal with it. Just because his shit was always simple doesn't mean it's bad. They were very influential to today's rock music.

i think pink floyd are the best song writers ever. their lyrics are just genius.

One of the best songwriters indeed. Waters and Gilmour were musical geniuses.

Nirvana sucked ass at the time and they suck ass now.

Who the fuck wants to whine about how crap life is when you can do anything you want on the planet?

And who the fuck would think those lyrics are anything other than drug-addled rubbish?

And who wants to play music dressed as a hobo who's let himself go a bit?

Fuck Nirvana and Cobain. A junkie's a junkie.

Most of that isn't true, and metallica has songs that would fit to your description. Give me a break. Find better reasons to hate them.
