| Post it ;D You asked for it...
This is from me sitting on my ass actually watching tv with the VCR remote in my hand. None of these are downloaded its all been taped from a little over 3 years.
It's not updated, so when I say 850 it's a rough estimate. This was last updated on Dec 26th, I am now at least 25 videos ahead of that.
Anyhow, as requested...see my downward spiral from humble nu-metal, rap and pop begginnings to my very first Metallica and Led Zep videos... ;D 8) This collection is my pride.

| | I play guitar. Kirk would be my main influence for my style, but I started playing because of Hendrix. Kirk turned me on to metal though. Zakk Wilde is another. Red Hot Chili Peppers are another big influence and also my favorite on metal band. |

I'm sure if your radio stations have this program, but they play it here Sunday mornings and at night on 102.1 The Edge.
http://www.edge.ca/station/ongoing_history_of_new_music.cfm
It's pretty much a one hour show where they do profiles on an area of music, whether it be bands, the emergence of a genre, a major event, anything pretty much. Really informative stuff.
All the shows are catalogued here:
http://www.edge.ca/station/ongoing_history_of_new_music.cfm?ell=6743&pge=1
Take a look, maybe a listen.
Any other fans of the show here? I'm listening to a three part series on the Red Hot Chili Peppers right now, and it's pretty awesome. |

| Posted by on 03/22/06 @ 03:09 PM Post subject: Bonus RHCP tracks from previous albums | |
| This is from the Red Hot Chili Peppers website:
For the first time ever, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have released their catalogue for download. Starting today around the world, and tomorrow in North America, the band's entire catalog is available at iTunes and your favorite digital retailers worldwide.
With the click of a mouse, you can download Blood Sugar Sex Magik, One Hot Minute, Californication, and By The Way from your favorite digital download store. Also available will be the earlier albums:Mother's Milk, The Uplift Mofo Party Plan, Freaky Styley and the bands self-titled first album, The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The band went into the vaults and pulled out some songs you might not have heard before. Blood Sugar Sex Magik, One Hot Minute, Californication, and By The Way will each have two or three bonus tracks. These deluxe versions will be available at iTunes exclusively in the U.S., and at major digital retailers around the world. You must purchase the full album to get the bonus tracks.
Anthony told Rolling Stone, "As we're going back through old leftovers, we're discovering some of the things we left off CALIFORNICATION are as strong as anything on the album."
Fans purchasing these albums on iTunes around the world also have the option of buying and receiving additional bonus materials, including music videos, full album artwork, and 'making of' mini-documentaries in addition to the bonus music. Purchase the full album to receive all these extras.
Stay tuned for much more...
Does anyone know what these bonus tracks are? I would be interested in getting a hold of them. |

| Can´t understand either, why they put Nirvana at Nr.1 ..... I like their music, too, but Nr.1? :P Metallica is my Nr.1 ;D The red hot chili peppers are cool though. I`ve seen them last year, cool, funky....
But where is: Black Sabath, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Beatles, Stones, Frank Zappa??? ::)

| Metallica's Lars Ulrich has exclusively revealed to Kerrang! magazine that the band's new material has an "old-school" Metallica flavor.
The metal legends are currently working on the follow-up to 2003's "St. Anger" in their own studio at Metallica HQ in San Rafael, California.
"The last album was an unusual Metallica album in that no one brought ideas into the studio. Everything you hear on that album was given birth to in the studio," the drummer notes. "This time around we've each brought in ideas as we used to -- as well as working on some jams we had from from two summers ago -- and James and I are sorting through our CDs of riffs to put together stuff as we did back in the day.
"The new stuff is much more organic, more old school. It certainly doesn't feel like 'St. Anger' Part Two," Ulrich adds. "When we were rehearsing for our South African shows and started playing the 'St. Anger' stuff, it definitely felt very different to the rest of the set because of how the songs were put together. It was really important to make that record in the way we did because of the chaotic internal vibe at that time: 'St. Anger' was a statement, 55 minutes of brutality packed onto a CD, proving to ourselves that we still had the spark. 'St. Anger' was fun but we don't need to make that album again."
Ulrich says that the band have six or seven songs nearing completion, minus vocals and they are using producer Rick Rubin, famed for his work with Red Hot Chili Peppers, System Of A Down and Slayer, for the first time. This collaboration marks the end of the quartet's 15-year relationship with producer Bob Rock, but Ulrich insists the split was drama free.
"We had a great time with Bob," he admits. "But it seemed that after 15 years it was time to try some different things and get a different perspective. As you get older you get set in your ways and get very fucking spoilt. It was important for as to not get stuck. Rick makes everything — he sees the big picture and has big ideas. It's working out great. We're excited hearing shit come together!"
Metallica's as-yet-untitled album is expected in early 2007.
Wow, just wow, old school shit, this just makes me look forward to it even more. |

| Regarding the Supernova Tryouts w/ Jason Newsted :
Former JANE'S ADDICTION/RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS guitarist Dave Navarro, who will return as one of the hosts of CBS's "Rock Star" program, has issued an update on the auditioning process for the program, which will be used by the all-star band SUPERNOV as the competition to determine their new lead singer.
SUPERNOVA will feature drummer MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee, former METALLICA bassist and current VOIVOD member Jason Newsted, and onetime GUNS N' ROSES axeman Gilby Clarke. The second edition of CBS's "Rock Star" will premiere on the network this summer.
Commented Navarro: " I went down to the Knitting Factory in Hollywood with Jason and Gilby for the L.A. 'Rock Star' auditions. No doubt, there was some great talent there, but I was amazed by some of the choices that were made by great number of the hopeful singers. Celine Dion songs, trumpet and ukulele solos, original acoustic numbers. It was like nobody got the memo regarding who they were auditioning for! SUPERNOVA is made up of members of GUNS, MÖTLEY and METALLICA! Very few people chose to just rock and bring it. Hey, they did their Dion covers well, I suppose, but man, these guys needed to see attitude and power and some rock! My advice for anyone going to future auditions is to save your original songs until the call back and just do great rock covers for the initial audition. These guys need to know the music you are doing so they have an idea of what you sound like. When you come in and do an a capella original, nobody has any idea if you are even close to in key or in time."
"Rock Star" has signed songwriter-performer Butch Walker to produce SUPERNOVA's first album, to be released just before the new band hits the road in 2007. Walker, named Rolling Stone's 2005 "hot" producer, has written or produced tracks for AVRIL LAVIGNE, PINK and BOWLING FOR SOUP.
Man, how do you confuse Rock Star with American Idol ?! |

| METALLICA are mentioned in the latest issue of Kerrang! magazine, where drummer Lars Ulrich offers a small update on the progress of the songwriting sessions for the band's new album.
According to Ulrich, METALLICA have "six to seven" new songs completed without vocals and have gone back to the old approach of Lars and guitarist/vocalist James Hetfield sifting through riff tapes the band have recorded on hours of jam sessions from the last world tour.
Regarding the band's collaboration with producer Rick Rubin (SLIPKNOT, SYSTEM OF A DOWN, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS), Lars said that its been good working with him because he sees things in the big picture and it was good to change producers because after 15 years they felt spoiled.
Nice to hear, I hope its true and the slow pace means that its being carefully done...as opposed to 'first-take' style. |

| I don't believe how such an barbarac act like that would happen. I hope that fucken nutter who shot darrell rots in hell permanetly. I was really sad and upset when I first heard it on the news yesterday. I then watched their cowboys from hell home video and burst into tears when I saw him play and being interviewed. Three and a half years ago I remember seeing Pantera playing in Sydney and I saw Darrell jamming with Seggression before playing with the other band members as well I must say it was one of the most memorable concerts I have been in my whole life and to this day I still think about the concert. I hope he rests in peace meets and jams with the other musicians who got killed like 2pac, Eazy E, Randy Rhoads, Jimi Hendrix, Phil Lynnot from Thin Lizzy, Cliff Burton, John Bonham, John Lennon, Hillel Slovak from Red Hot Chili Peppers, you name it. I hope Vinnie Paul is okay and the other two members from Damageplan.
