I really like almost every song from the black album. I'd rate this album a 9.6 out of 10. You got the Unforgiven, NEM, Sandman, Wherever i may roam, Of wolf & man, and more great songs (which I really like) such as My friend of misery or Through the never. Some of the heavy songs like Dont tread on me, Holier than thou or The struggle within, i think, are really amazing; i just don't understand why some people don't like these songs.

Oh ya, great review master of orion

View entire thread: My S&M Review
Posted by cloudnine on 11/01/04 @ 02:05 AM    Post subject: My S&M Review

I just bought and viewed S&M on DVD (after hearing the cd briefly once) for the first time, and I was impressed. I had my doubts about the symphony blending with the band, but I was proven wrong (on most counts). So here goes, a track-by-track review!

(SFO = San Francisco Orchestra, by the way.)

Disc 1

1. Ecstasy of Gold

While it's just an intro, this was lovely in its setup, a nice smooth rendition for a song that was made to be symphonized!

9.5/10

2. Call of Ktulu

Wow. This song was again, MADE to be reworked by a symphony. Everything from the intro to the beautiful interludes are effortlessly intertwined. I always thought this was the weakest of the three Metallica instrumentals, but the addition of the symphony really helped it.

10/10

3. Master of Puppets

Eh. It was okay...I don't really think this song was made to be accompanied with a symphony. The opening verses and choruses were awkward, but when the interlude came along it went much better. Generally good, but the symphony really didn't make it better (what could, really). James was flawless, though.

7/10

4. Of Wolf and Man

Starting off with an uber-corny, yet somehow very fitting and funny joke by James, this one ripped into me. Good God - I never really liked this song, but I sure as hell do now. This is probably the most improved song with the addition of the orchestra, truly adding another dimension to a song I thought was pretty boring. Wow is all I have to say. Jason is especially awesome on this one.

9.5/10

5. The Thing That Should Not Be

I always thought the relatively poor production on Master of Puppets kept this one from becoming great, and it seems I was right. The SFO coupled with the flawless production truly makes this a heavy wonder to behold, with the lyrics sung beautifully - and insanely - by James. It's his favourite song, and I can see the love he shows for it.

9.5/10

6. Fuel

Argh. This song just DOES NOT fit with an orchestra. All the SFO does is provide background noise, and I just wanted it to be over. Heh.

5/10

7. The Memory Remains

Wow, is this version ever better than the record. The symphony adds an awesome background, while letting the fans sing the stuff usually done by that crazy witch Marianne Faithful was awesome. The power behind it was incredible, and this one just kicked ass.

9/10

8. No Leaf Clover

The first of the made-for-this-performance songs, this one is a heavy wonder, with some awesome (if repetitive) lyrics. Incredible vocal power by James coupled with an awesome solo for Kirk makes it one of the best songs they've created since Load. The made-for-orchestra feel makes the song that much better.

9.5/10

9. Hero of the Day

I always thought this song was kind of ho-hum after the soft part, but the orchestra with its soft, advancing melody helped this one out. I can't keep complimenting James on his vocals, though. Darn.

8.5/10

10. Devil's Dance

Sigh. I fucking hate this song. I couldn't even bring myself to finish the whole thing.

I have no idea because it sucks / 10

11. Bleeding Me

This gets one of my votes for best song of the compilation. James' incredible lyrics and vocals coupled with the GORGEOUS accompaniment of the orchestra makes for an incredible number. I can't compliment this one enough.

10/10

Disc 2

1. Nothing Else Matters

We all know this song was meant to be done by an orchestra one day, and it sure was. The SFO adds another layer of beauty to the song, and James' solo is nothing short of stunning - one of the best versions of it I've ever heard.

9.5/10

2. Until it Sleeps

This was a decent song, and the orchestra spiced it up. Especially in the intro - it complements' Jason's bass very well. It's generally well-done, but not much to write home about.

8/10

3. For Whom The Bell Tolls

I wanted this to kick ass, and it did! The orchestra just adds more power to the piece - basic, but awesome. The orchestra echoes are cool, too.

9.5/10

4. Minus Human

I can't decide which original piece is better - this or No Leaf Clover. At first I thought NLC, but I must say that this riff fucking kicks ass, and Jason's vocals are amazing on it. So I'll give it the same score and be diplomatic.

9.5/10

5. Wherever I May Roam

Nice piece, the orchestra adds a bit, but it's nothing particularly special. Just an all-around good job - especially James' powerful voice.

8.5/10

6. Outlaw Torn

This one's tied for Bleeding Me as the best cut of the discs. It's already an awesome song, but this version truly breathes new life into it. Everything is amazing here, from the intro to the interlude and then to the awesome trippy solos. James does an INCREDIBLE job here, and I can't stress this enough. Truly one of his best moments.

10/10

7. Sad But True

I wanted to like it, but this kind of annoyed me. Instead of crashing along with the chorus, the orchestra made it distracting, trying to create a background - it didn't work. The song is supposed to be a crunchy, stop and start job, and the orchestral part didn't fit.

6/10

8. One

This was going to be the big one for me. If they blew this, I was going to be very disappointed. I was pleasantly surprised. The orchestral opening was kickass, and the flowing melody behind the most beautiful intro Metallica has ever written was gorgeous. During the verses, the orchestra is so light and delicate - it's PERFECT. It turns angry during the "wish for death part", which is also awesome. I do have one huge gripe here, though. They really fucking blew the crashing middle part. These is probably the single most most POWERFUL section Metallica has ever written, with the guitars creating the machinegun effect that is one of the top sections of any song, ever. The orchestra playing over top of it totally ruined any power it had, and it played something really anti to what emotion the chords were supposed to convey. However, they pick it up again with a frantic type of section under Kirk's solos, which were awesome. The blowing of the middle section really kind of ruined what could've been one of the definitive versions of the song out there, though.

8.5/10

9. Enter Sandman

This one didn't work. It just felt WAY too mushy and overcrowded, with everyone seemingly playing something different that didn't fit at all. This song to me has always been about building up, and even the stop-start BAM part at the end lost its effect from everything just having no sense of direction or feeling. Probably the least successful song on the album in comparison to the original.

5/10

10. Battery

Niiiiiiiiice. I never really appreciated the song itself until recently, and this offered a cool rendition of the song. One complaint I had was the REALLY long waiting of absolutely nothing while they built up tension for the last encore. Yes, I want the concert in it's entirety, but 5 minutes of just people cheering and shots of the orchestra was lame. Anyways, this was a nice finisher to the performance, with a great, thoughtful rendition of the lyrics by James, who usually rushes it and garbles it. Very heavy, very good. Was there supposed to be an S&M 2 which was delayed by rehab or something? 'Cos Lars says "same time next year". Just a thought.

9/10

In short, I miss Jason Newsted. Okay we're digressing, but this, his last recorded performance with the band, really opens the wound of the total lack of decent backup vocals in the current lineup. His incredible powerful, underrated background singing really added another dimension to the music. Sigh. They should have treated him better, because they're hurting for it now.

In conclusion, this was a nice sidebar to Metallica's discography. Most of it is very well done, and I don't regret the $70 CAD (!) I spent on it - it was much better watching the thing on DVD then just listening to it, and I like the performances very much. My complaints are the lack of some songs that I would think have gone better with the orchestra then some that got on the setlist:     Unforgiven? WHERE THE HELL WAS THIS SONG AND WHY WASN'T IT INCLUDED, My Friend of Misery, Orion, Sanitarium, and FADE TO BLACK (another no-brainer, why the fuck not?). Another thing that was missing were Justice songs - they only played a single track - while they're hard speed/thrash metal, a nice medley of 3-4 songs or something would have worked well.

While my review may have seemed harsh, I really did enjoy the performances, and I'll be watching them again soon. A great addition to my collection. This thing will definitely appeal to prog-rock fans and others who like to see a new spin on the music they know and love. Good job, guys.

Hope you all liked the review.

View entire thread: Simple Solos - Better?
Posted by cloudnine on 12/19/04 @ 11:49 PM    Post subject: Simple Solos - Better?

I was thinking lately, and I noticed that most of my favourite/memorable solos (from Metallica mostly, but elsewhere too) have been relatively simple ones. I'm talking about things like the Master of Puppets interlude, Nothing Else Matters, and My Friend of Misery, the One opening fills/solos/whatever you want to call them for example(s).

I think it's actually MORE difficult to design a memorable, beautiful, and awesome solo that isn't as technically abstract/complicated. Shredding and playing blisteringly gets extremely tired after awhile, and things like Van Halen's Eruption have never impacted on me emotionally or anything - it's like, "Okay, it's fast...but now what?"

Not saying that Kirk's solos are boring or bad by any means (well, some were, but that's another argument), just that I think, overall, the less complicated solos happen to be the ones that really hit me emotionally.

Thoughts, anyone?

Master Of puppets-the intro is amazing to play.

To live is to die-The acostic intro is really cool.

Seek and destroy- Love playing it from intro to end. I wish i can play the solo though.

Sad but true- Its sounds awesome especially with heaps of distortion.

My friend of misery- I play Jasons bass parts tuned down on my guitar and its soo good to play.

For Whom the bell toll- Fantastic song to learn and kirks first solo people can learn easily too. Great riff.

Posted by MiniME06 on 10/01/04 @ 10:20 PM    Post subject: Metallica/The Black Album Lazy Assed Review

One of Metallica's most famous albums, although not my favorite, this is still a great album. Lets begin.

1. Enter Sandman - an exremely well known Metallica song, whoever has heard of Metallica has probably heard this song at least once. this is a great song and like the rest of the album, is recorded in the highest quality possible. i happen to be sick of the song from listening to it so much but that doesn't mean i don't appreciate it. this great track gets an A.

2. Sad But True - arguably the heaviest song on the album and one of the best. good drums and well good everything, not much to say about this song besides that its GREAT. can't give it any lower than a B+.

3. Holier Than Thou - another great song, i like it just about as much as Sad But True so i guess ill give it a B+.

4. The Unforgiven - a decent song, i happen to like The Unforgiven II on Reload a little better than this one, but it is still a great song. it's probably the second least heavy song on the album besides NEM, another great song, but we will get to that track a little later. This "slightly less better than The Unforgiven II" track gets a B-.

5. Wherever I May Roam - another great addition to the album, slow start but it gets pretty heavy at times and is quite worthy of it's Metallica-ness. I happen to like this song alot, but i'll say that about nearly every song. i think i heard somewhere like on some show on MTV or VHI about The Black Album that this song has alot of meaning to Metallica (being on tour all the time.) This Metallica song gets a B+.

6. Don't Tread On Me - "TO PREPARE FOR WAR!" another heavy song, like most of the album and just as good as any track on the CD. i kinda think its kinda repetitive for a song thats four minutes long but that doesn't make it bad. This rare "short" song gets a B.

7. Through the Never - "TWISTING,TURNING THROUGH THE NEVA!" about the same length as Tread and just as good. good vocals, overall a very good song, not much else to say about it. another... RARE ...Metallica song that isn't 6+ minutes long.
This one gets a B like pretty much everything else.

8. Nothing Else Matters - definitely the most well known Metallica ballads out there. this song created alot of controversy with the hardcore Metallica fans of the 80's because it wasn't heavy enough. Good vocals, good song, nothing else matters. i'll give this lil ballad a B+ for surviving the angry and rabid hardcore Metallica fans.

9. Of Wolf and Man - although not my favorite song on the album, it's not a bad song. i can't think of much to say about it so im just gonna slap a B- on this track and call it a day.

10. The God That Failed - i feel pretty much the same way about this song as i do about Wolfman. it's a decent song with good vocals so i'm just gonna slap the same grade of a B- on it and go on to...

11. My Friend of Misery - another decent song, tho not my favorite. not as heavy as most of the songs on the album and i dont like the vocals as much. it's a good song and im still going to give it a B-.

12. The Struggle Within - a good finisher for the album. nice marching drum intro and decent vocals. not much wrong with this song, worth a listen while you struggle inside your head. BIG FAT F- B-

now for the final grade. this is an overall good album and deserves an overall good grade for it. i perfer the first four albums, but this is a good addition to my collection. it's definitely worth buying it.

F- ... B

View entire thread: Metallica songs with a WAH solo
Posted by stormet on 11/29/04 @ 12:51 AM    Post subject: Re: Metallica songs with a WAH solo

You'd be surprised, there's more than a handful of songs WITHOUT wah solos.
Here is some stuff...this 'wah guide' is STRICTLY for solos on the STUDIO albums (not their live renditions), some songs you may think that have wah effects actually have other effects such as delay, flanger, etc.  I've only done their first 5 albums (I didn't include Load and Reload because I'm not too familiar with a lot of those songs aside from the obvious like Fuel, Outlaw, Memory, etc).  This may not be 100% correct but it's pretty close.

Songs with a wah solo:
Hit the Lights
Motorbreath
Anesthesia - pulling teeth (for bass, the whole song is practically a solo)
Phantom Lord
No Remorse
Fight Fire with fire
Trapped Under Ice
Battery
The Thing that should not be
Damage Inc.
...And Justice for All
Eye of the Beholder
Dyers Eve
Enter Sandman
Holier than Thou
Wherever I may Roam
Don't Tread on Me
My Friend of Misery
The Struggle Within

Songs WITHOUT a wah solo:
The Four Horsemen
Jump in the Fire
Whiplash
Seek and Destroy
Metal Militia
Ride the Lightning
Fade to Black
Escape (has delay in some parts, but no wah)
Creeping Death
The Call of Ktulu (has delay in some parts, but no wah)
Master of Puppets
Welcome Home - Sanitarium
Disposable Heroes (has wah in other parts of the song but not in the solo)
Leper Messiah
Orion
Blackened
One
The Shortest Straw
Harvester of Sorrow
The Frayed Ends of Sanity
To Live is to Die
Sad but True
The Unforgiven
Through the Never
Nothing Else Matters
Of Wolf and Man
The God that failed

IF you count the improv. at the end of "For Whom the Bell tolls" then yes, it has wah in it.

REMEMBER, the non-wah solos probably have a different effect to them...so if you think there's wah in it, there actually isn't.

I agree with this list except I am pretty sure that there is a wah used in Leper Messiah after the sweeping. I dont listen to load/reload enough to tell you exact songs, but Kirk did go a little wah crazy in the 90's. But live, you can expect him to touch the wah at least once a song.

Great review man. Very nice work, it's great to see a topic devoted to reviews of the underrated and forgotten songs.

I completely agree with "Don't Tread On Me" and "My Friend Of Misery."

The only thing I think should be rated higher is "The Frayed Ends Of Sanity" and also "The Struggle Within" is a 10 in my mind.

Do another review of songs from 96-03. That'd be badass.

ESCAPE (hetfield / ulrich / hammett) 1984 a:Ride The Lightning.

This is the only song of the Lightning-album that has only been played live during jams to fuck up James (he can't stand the song...). Let's have a closer look to the song,
first of all the topic of the songs lyrics iskind of something everyone can identify with; breaking away from the real world and live your own life, I think it's a cool topic. The song starts off with a nice melody followed up by a pretty bad-ass riff, mixed with nice drumwork from Lars, love the melody in the chorus. The bridge just before the guitarsolo is kinda weak, I'd say, just as Kirk's solo, it's not his best plus the ending with the totally useless siren-sound isn't all that, I think...
Overall I'll rate the song: 7,5.

ORION (hetfield / ulrich / burton) 1986 a:Master Of Puppets

Isn't it a shame that they never played this damned song live in its full version? Well, I think it is...I know everyone listens to this song, just to hear the slow part of the song with Burton's massive bass-solo. But overall I think this whole song fucking rocks!
It starts up fading in with a very cool bass-sound lifted up by Lars' drums, then the guitars come in and make the song what it is...Cool!! This song shows how mighty Burton could handle his bass...We still miss him...Also, I really dig those wheaping guitars in the slow part! Awesome!
Rate: 10

THE FRAYED ENDS OF SANITY (hetfield / ulrich / hammett) 1988 a:...And Justice For All

The intro is a good thing to keep the crowd going during their live-shows. A part of this song once was part of the so called Justice-medley on the Nowhere Else To Roam tour.
As far as I can say: this song has a cool riff, but they shouldn't had to stretch this song so long, after a while it gets kinda boring, I think. The topic of the lyrics from my own perspective, they are about addictions or something. Well, that's nice. Then Kirk's solo, maybe it's the best thing about the whole song...
Rate: 5

TO LIVE IS TO DIE (hetfield / ulrich / burton) 1988 a:...And Justice For All

An instrumental packed with riffs written by Burton, magnificent! The song starts off with a cool Spanish melody, which turns into a pumping heavy-ass riff, I heard that most of the guitars were done by James and he did a pretty good job (once again). I must say that Lars' drumworks are fucking great too, actually. I love to see this song live in its entirely, would be fun to see James struggle with all those different guitars (haha!). The best part of the song might be the slower middle-section, just gives a real strange feeling over me, I don't know what it is...It's just too good to be true
Rate: 9,5

DON'T TREAD ON ME (hetfield / ulrich) 1991 a:Metallica

This is one of the most underrated songs of the album, it starts off real heavy, and goes on for the rest of the song, I also like that "I want to be in America" melody at the start. Lyrical topic: America rules the world (from my persepective), this kinda shows how strong America is, but experiences proved otherwise (9-11). I really dig Kirk's solo in this one, for the rest it's basically based around the same riffs. Never was played live (not even a jam)...
Rate: 8,5

MY FRIEND OF MISERY (hetfield / ulrich / newsted) 1991 a:Metallica

Another kick-ass song which Metallica constantly look away from...It was only Jason who played the bass-part of the song during his solo's on live-shows...It's a shame, cuz the song fukcing rules. The riff during the verses is by far the most coolest thing I've heard. The lyrical topic is cool too, I just cannot find the words to explain (my English isn't that good), offcourse there is another slow part in the song with a pretty cool twingy guitar in it.
Then there is Kirk's chainsaw-solo, I simply love that shit he does there...Wow! This is probably the best song from the whole album.
Rate: 10

THE STRUGGLE WITHIN (hetfield / ulrich) 1991 a:Metallica

I simply like the marching drum intro, it's unlike everything they've ever done this far. The main-riff is simply fucking heavy. I read once that the lyrics were the last to be written of all songs just before recording and that James was singing about the recording process of this album, kinda cool, I think...This is one of the fastest songs of the album and also a real good one, only Kirk's solo is a bit simple, I'd say. But I think this could be a cool live-song. A worthy album-closer.
Rate: 8,5

As you might have noticed, this review is kinda about the songs that were never or hardly played live. I don't know how I got to this, but I liked doing it and maybe I'll come back for a part 2 (1996-2003) if you like that.
So, I hope you had some fun with this shit and I'll see ya!

Posted by D-Man on 10/18/04 @ 07:08 PM    Post subject: How to get the monthly bootleg

Alright, here's an update on the Encycmet bootlegs...

What I have done here is just a test run to see how much of a response we would get for providing bootlegs. The response has been huge, thanks to you guys.

For now, the boots are going to go on hiatus for a bit. But, with that said, when they return, I'm gonna have a bunch of different ones for you guys to download, so don't lose hope.

As well, the traffic for the bootleg downloads has been huge. Because of this, I'm thinking about making some new requirements to be able to get the bootlegs. Nothing major though, probably just a "you should have this many posts" thing. If that is done, they can't be spam posts either.

But, I won't get ahead of myself here. As of now, the bootlegs are going to go on hold for now.

But, that doesn't mean you can't get them. Many members here are more than willing to share the bootlegs, not to mention there's the regular bootleg forum for everyone to use.

So, just a heads up.

i mean that iron maiden is like metallica was back in the old days. they will spend hours with thier fans, stuff like that. metallica has always expierimented with thier music and let some fans down. and while they are doing what they want to do, iron maiden wont change thier style because they realise that without the fans you wouldnt have gone anywhere. they will not change thier style even if they could sell more records or get new fans because they dont want new fans, they are happy with the fans they have.

and the marketing tecniques were used by metallica. my friend of misery was supposed to be an 8 min instrumental but bob said an instrumental wouldn sell as good so they decided to shorten it and add lyrics. the cover of load was hated by both jason and james and jason wanted to get rid of it, but james said it would "attract an alteritave crowd" and left it on there. on st. anger kirk wanted to make solo's for it, but lars said "we shouldnt have solo's because this is a team effort" and kirk basicly said that lars just wanted to follow some bullshit trend in music nowadays.

iron maiden could have changed there style back with fear of the dark after metallica had so much sucess with the black album(like megadeth with "coundown to extinction") but iron maiden didnt change thier style though thier fellow metal bands were and in turn becoming more profitable. and look where it has got them, they are now without a doubt turning out the best metal albums out of all the metal bands. BNW and DoD killed st. anger in every way. thats what i mean by most loyal.

It is so obvious that you got into metal a year ago. thats not wrong, but what wrong is to me is to judge some certain bands and people so quickly without having a real experience of their music.. loyalty. that is something made up by some early rock bands to stick together with their fans and supporters wich has nothing to do with music at all..it was an attitude to make a difference and to distinguish from other kinds of music which was reasonable at that time and which is also now, even.. as for maiden, not changing their music in order to keep their fans is bullshit.. everyband has to change just like everything..becoming a holding(maiden holdings)is not something you can do with a handful of 'loyal' fans. once you get into music theres no loyalty, there are no boundaries and such... theres just making music, making the things you wanna do as much as you can, making profit in order to progress and go on... anything in this circle is fair to do.

but pls, do not believe in everything what you hear and what they say. these people are proffessional musicians...they know what to do and not to do..maiden, metallica or whatever. once again, if we speaking of loyalty, metallica have never ever promised anything about their music since day one... they always said, this is what we play.. u either love it or leave it. there has been many fans who left metallica after ride the lightning just because its intro was clean/acoustic and there were so many softenings in therir music compared to kill em all...so, u see, loyalty turned out to be blind, to be not accepting change which was not sopposed to be at all.

long live metallica and miden.
and fuck the loyalty stuff, u be loyal to your bands by buying legal stuff... nothing else matters.

plus : the instrumental song as far as I know was the outlaw thorn..it was meant to be a 30 minute instrumental or sumthing..but never happened I think.

Posted by PhantomLord07 on 12/05/04 @ 10:04 PM    Post subject: Re: Why the hell do you hate Bush

I dont say much, or wright much for that matter, but what I do is listen and observe. I chose to wright what i have to wright in this topic because it seems to have the two extremes of opinions on the topic of america and bush.

This morning, i had to observe one of the hardest things in my life. To say it metaphoricaly: I had to witness a fortress crumble and release its demens. I had to watch a man breakdown and weep for his neighbor, a man that is happy all the time, a leader, a real "tough guy." This man had faught for what he believed, voiced his opinions, always helped people, wheather they were strangers or friends; and for all his work he gets grief and inner pain, the world has hung him out to dry and i fear that he will never be a happy man ever again.

I know that you may have seen worse, or been through worse, but hear me out. This event has shaken me to my coore and placed in me a resolve to combat the powers which tore this man up. Today, all which i have believed to be solid, has crumbled, and yet my beliefs have been strengthened. As we speak i see my demon, and i can feel him. Nothing describes this pain better than this song:

Where do I take this pain of mine
I run, but it stays right my side

So tear me open, pour me out
There's things inside that scream and shout
And the pain still hates me
So hold me, until it sleeps

Just like the curse, just like the stray
You feed it once, and now it stays

So tear me open, but beware
There's things inside without a care
And the dirt still stains me
So wash me, until I'm clean

*It grips you, so hold me
It stains you, so hold me
It hates you, so hold me
It holds you, so hold me

Until it sleeps**

So tell me why you've choosen me
Don't want your grip, don't want your greed

I'll tear me open, make you gone
No more can you hurt anyone
And the fear still shakes me
So hold me, until it sleeps

I don't want it

So tear me open, but beware
The things inside without a care
And the dirt still stains me
So wash me, 'till I'm clean...

I'll tear me open, make you gone
No longer will you hurt anyone
And the fear still shapes me
So hold me, until it sleeps...

Until it sleeps...

Ladies and gentelmen the moral of the story is, alot of you are over cofident and stupid. You blurt things out before you know what your saying. You have two ears and one mouth, do some more listening. Maybe you will see your tragic flaw before it is to late, i doubt happiness will ever accompany me again the way it used to until i have defeated this evil.

For those of you who hate Bush, tell everyone why, and use information to back up your reasoning. For those of you who hate America, tell us why, and not why you hate americans, why you hate AMERICA. Tell me why we are wrong in everything we do. I'll be watching.

You just stood there screaming
Fearing no one was listening to you
They say the empty can rattles the most
The sound of your voice must soothe you
Hearing only what you want to hear
And knowing only what you've heard
You you're smothered in tragedy
You're out to save the world

Misery
You insist that the weight of the world
Should be on your shoulders
Misery
There's much more to life than what you see
My friend of misery

You still stood there screaming
No one caring about these words you tell
My friend before your voice is gone
One man's fun is another's hell
These times are sent to try men's souls
But something's wrong with all you see
You you'll take it on all yourself
Remember, misery loves company

Misery
You insist that the weight of the world
Should be on your shoulders
Misery
There's much more to life than what you see
My friend of misery

You just stood there creaming
My friend of misery

the new album will either be the best metal album in the decade or the worst piece of crap album ever conceided by metallica. yes, worse than st.anger and the black album put together.

Wow black album was bad huh? May be partially overrated, but far from bad. Seeing as how the 2nd half of the cd apart from NEM is pretty underrated. Tell me how many albums you find where just about every song is so fucking great, and so fucking popular in another band.

did you just use popularity to define greatness? i'm quoting this just so you can't edit, this idiot post is gonna remain.

Hah, do you ever stop to think why it's so popular? because it is great. Ask half the people on this board will say My friend of misery fucking owns
