Up until last year I had never listened to Metallica (or matal for that matter). I read a review of St. Anger, saying it was really good, and that Metallica hadn't played this heavy since Master Of Puppets in 1986. So I thought maybe I should try these guys, and I allowed myself to download an mp3 of the song Master Of Puppets. I can still feel the shivers running down my spine as the magical diversity of that song kept my ears spellbound for the next 8:35 minutes, and the next 8:35 minutes after that, and the next...
Didn't take me long to get my ass down to the records store and pick up this Master of Masterpieces. Thank you, Metallica, for letting me discover my love for metal, and for my favourite song ever! (Even though I've heard lots of great stuff, no song has ever beaten Master of Puppets, as far as I'm concerned.)

AJFA's drumming was great....but I always considered Master of Puppets to reign supreme as the true masterpiece. I'd say Damage Inc, Master of Puppets, Battery and The Thing That Should Not Be are greats.

the first 4 powerchords of Master of Puppets get 20000 people scream like a motherfuck (oh yeah those are legendary powerchords) as well as the ones in Smoke on the Water

well, the opening are already pretty fucking kickass as it is. can't get much better than battery, it opens the best fucking metal album ever, master of puppets. I dunno, but fuel might be an ok opener, if we wanna change a little. Its a pretty damn good song.
