I saw a site on the internet that says that metallica copies songs from megadeath, and just change the lyrics and the riffs a little bit,,and then they give exampel of songs. I will give an exampel from the site,
In my darkest hour - For whom the bell tolls (The same riff)

But how can metallica copy a song that will be written 4 years later, you know for whom the bell tools came out 1984, and in my darkest hour 1988,, I think megadeath copies metallica songs.
Aw, come on, ppl.!!! How could 'TallicA copy things that came out years later?! Actually, how could 'TallicA ever copy others' shit? 'TallicA doesn't need any "inspiration" of the kind; 'TallicA 's too good, and maybe this is what pisses idiots off! After all, why do you think they said that? They're pissed off, that's all. ...So fucking what?!

the only thing that matters to me is numbers, RTL, that has FWTBT on it came out in 1984 while So Far, So Good..So What! which has In My Darkest Hour on it came out in 1988. Metallica released it first, so they win! lol

I've heard In My Darkest Hour is a tribute from Dave to Cliff, he wrote when he read in the news paper that Cliff had died. So he took the FWTBT riff (which I am pretty sure Cliff basicly wrote) and used it in his song.

Aint heard In My Darkest hour so I cant compare, but I dont think it's either copying either way, just some bitter Megadeth fans wanting to still shit about Metallica (Dont get me wrong, Megadeth are great, just they have some fans who think just like Mustaine)

I headbanged throughout a whole Lipid gig once. I tell ya it hurt in my neck the day after!

I don't get headache so easy anymore. If you practice long enough, you'll be immune.
The best songs for practicing headbanging are IMO:
Metallica - Ain't my bitch
Dream Theater - 6.00
Megadeth - In my darkest hour
Lipid - Hagridden

P.S: If you think I sound dead serious about headbanging: You are fucking right!

For all you Megadeth fans out there, I was wondering what are some of your favorite songs and solos.
For me they are -

Songs :

Holy Wars (solo's are blistering)
Hangar 18 (solo's are BLISTERING!)
Blackmail The Universe (favorite off new album)
Good Mourning/Black Friday (just so good)
A Toute Le Monde (great ballad)
Captive Honour (intro is SO COOL)
In My Darkest Hour
Lucretia (am I the only one who thinks this solo is insane?)
Kick The Chair (badass riff)

What do you think?

Posted by bunny on 12/23/04 @ 09:50 PM    Post subject: Re: mustaine vs. hammett

DAVE DAVE DAVE!!! By miles, here's why:
Reason 1 - Dave still plays SOLO's!!!
2 - More creative, look at stuff like Wake Up Dead, Hangar 18 have really cool licks in them. Doesnt confine himself to basic shit
3 - Dave has this "controlled nonsense" style, where it can be fast and erratic yet perfectly controlled like stuff from In My Darkest Hour or Holy Wars
4 - He was the Rhythm Guitarist in Megadeth, he could do all the solo shit miles better than Kirk, as well as sing with an incredible voice, the wails on KIMB is immense. Plus some of the riffs he sings over are pretty complicated, stuff of RIP being a high light.
5 - Harmonies, Dave has a much better ear and use of them, check out the harmonies on A Tout Le Monde, Victory, She Wolf to name a few. Uses harmonies alot more as well, and harmonies = cheese!!
6 - Speed, Dave owns Kirk on that one. Listen to 4 horseman, then listen to Dave rip the Mechanix. No argument there, Coincidence the tempo's slowed down when Kirk arrived??

Thats my opinion, being a Metallica fan converted into a bigger Megadeth fan. If your looking at Metallica Lead Guitarist v Megadeth lead guitarists, Deth axemem all own Kirk:
Kerry King - briefly in Megadeth, faster by far
Chris Poland - innovative, and kicks ass really cool shit
Jeff Young - looked gaycore but could rip it up
Dimebag - would of been in Megadeth with Vinnie Paul had Dave not already employed Nick Menza on drums
Marty Friedman - the best in my opinion! Filthy guitarist, check out the Cacophony shit all guitarists will cream themselves with joy at this!
Al Pitrelli - if you can nail Friedman, Poland stuff your gonna be good.
Glen Drover - not yet heard him, but looking forward to seeing him and Megadeth Feb 8th in London

Well, it isn't one of mine. Usually when I don't like something, it gets better when I listen to it more, but that hasn't happened with this album. Besides, the Sex Pistols cover is awful.
