Metallica, but Hallowed be thy Name and The Wicker Man are just fucking amazing songs to belt out whether or not you can sing just belt out the lyrics to hallowed be thy name.. It's fucking cool.

Bruce's vocals aren't like squeelish like Dave Mustaine's.. But He has a likable thrash metalish voice. And Dave has improved too.

Guitaring: Lead giutar: Kirk Hammett hands down
Rhythm: As forementioned Maiden does some crazy harmonizing and it is a beautiful sound *like on To Live is to Die, the guitar is beautiful there too!*

Drums: Maiden for sure. Sorry Lars, it WAS close but Maiden is just better here.

Bass: It's hard to judge Rob, maybe he'll pull some crazy lines out of his ass. Or maybe he won't. Cliff was AMAZING!!
Jason was great too, I sort of liked his back up vocals on certain tracks.

However Maiden here too, because with the everchanging Metallica, I can't rate the new bassist Rob very well. Gotta see him live soon!

well, ill do a fav song from each album list.

Iron Maiden-Sanctuary (killer riff)
Killers-WRATHCHILD!!!
# of the Beast-Hallowed be thy Name
Piece of Mind-Revelations
Powerslave-Rime of the Ancient mariner
Somewhere in Time-Alexander the Great
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son-7th son
No Prayer-Dont Own
Fear of the Dark-Fear
X factor-Dont own
Virtual XI-Dont own
BNW-Blood brothers
DoD-Paschendale

I havent picked up all the 90s albums yet since that was thier down period. i actually love maiden more than metallica. they are the only band that has stuck to thier guns and made true metal for 25+ years.

another one of my favorites is the last verse of hallowed be thy name by iron maiden. it really speaks to me.
----------------------------------
As I walk my life drifts before me
Though the end is near I'm not sorry
Catch my soul, it's willing to fly away

Mark my words, believe my soul lives on
Don't worry now, that I have gone
I've gone beyond to see the truth

When you know that your time is close at hand
Maybe then, you'll begin to understand
life down here is just a strange illusion
-----------------------------------------
it was a combination of this and stairway to heaven that made me believe that there is something afterwards and that we don't just rot in a hole when we die like i used to believe. i used to be very negative but something ( i have no clue as to what ) made me believe that maybe our lives are not as pointless as i believed.

"gates" is about his mom passing away when he was young,I guess music has different strokes on some people. :-/

Creeping:

In a foreign field this album lay
Lonely Saint...unknown grave
On his dying words he prays
Tell the world of No Solo's...

Relive all that its been through
Last communion of his soul
Rust your bullets with its tears
Let me tell you bout the years!

Layin low in a Maiden filled Rack!
Saint Anger slowly gets pushed back!
On my face I can feel age come through!
Oh Saint Anger...Who can we blame?

I cant be bothered writing the rest and changing the masterpiece lyrics of Paschendale. But that, Hallowed Be Thy Name and Number of the Beast are their best songs.
youre wrong.

hallowed, paschendale, and rime of the ancient mariner are thier best songs. oh, and BTW, call me assmonkey, not creeping.

sometimes, if it's music written specifically for guitar, it will tell you position, and if not, then you just play it where it's easiest in accordance with the rest of the song.
so let me see if i understand you. ill take the main riff for hallowed be thy name by iron maiden, and i can play it with the first note (E) on the 7th fret, a string or 12th fret on the E string? cause i play it starting on the 7th fret but there is no right or wrong way of those 2.
